Welcome to the Solidago Foundation.
For two decades and counting, we’ve worked to empower marginalized communities living and working at the forefront of harmful policies.
Toxic waste has devastated neighborhoods, wage theft has plagued families, and a rigged economy has siphoned scarce capital to big business. For generations, these systemic injustices were thought to be intractable, keeping people in place without a voice.
Solidago is helping to change that. Elevating the voices of those without access to political power is the central tenant of our work. Joined by a cadre of field and funding partners, we are helping to build leaders who can propel and reframe the public narrative.
Rather than “make room” for their voices at the table, we are making certain their voices lead the table – in crafting solutions and implementing strategies. Women, people of color, immigrants, low-wage earners, and would-be entrepreneurs are mobilizing. They are telling their story, creating change, and inspiring many others along the way – including me.
As a foundation, Solidago explores bold ideas and take risks. Toward that end, we are seeding early initiatives, forging atypical alliances, and developing models of organizing not fully reliant on funders. We know that when we work together, our collective vision becomes reality.
